Today I have swapped out all of the old covers for the new one. Yes, I have redesigned the cover as apparently the old cover didn't quite convey that the story is a paranormal thriller. One reader actually told me that he almost didn't read the book as he thought the cover suggested a story about a woman at sea. Well in response I have removed Nora from the cover, darkened the theme and let The Burned One have Nora's spot on the cover.
I also added a new blog article today all about the process of writing and how to produce a quality book before you publish it. You can check that out at the blog and here is a handy link to the article: Building a Quality Book
The website redesign is complete and the new site has gone live which is awesome as it is definitely an improvement over version one. One of the changes that will come with the new site is that I will add an entry to this page for each new blog post. The next post will be on Thursday so I will be back with more news then.
2011 has been a good year with the release of The Daughter of Man and also with the opening of my blog. This New Year is expected to be very exciting with the release of Polly Woggins and the Nanobot Nightmare and a continued publicity push for the blog and a new project that I am getting involved in called the Kindle Book Promo. Without any further adieux, I want to wish you all a very Happy New Year and I look forward to taking the trip into 2012 together.
I have started a blog called 'A Writer's Perspective' which is separate from this site though very much connected at the same time. I plan to use the blog to provide my own content from writing tips to some of my general thoughts on almost anything. It will also be a great place to open some dialogue with any of you that wish to partake in some good conversations. You do have to register to leave comments but it is free and I recommend it and look forward to hearing from you.
The Daughter of Man released this week on Kindle and is available in other formats on smashwords.com. It is a relief to finally have it available for purchase after the nearly six month editing process. It seems like a lot of editing but I think it is always worth it for the reader when the time is taken to get the book right. If I am not satisfied, I will hold back a release to make sure I am happy with it before you get a chance to see it. In this case, I am very delighted with how the final product ended up and I hope to hear some of your feedback once you get a chance to enjoy it.
The website will be going live today which is very exciting as we near the release date for The Daughter of Man. Everything is still progressing on schedule for our early September launch and it will be such a relief to finally get this book on your favorite ebook readers. The exact launch date is not yet known and there is the possibility of a little bit of staggering on the release as specific readers have slightly different procedures.
Once the book is fully released on ebook the paper copy will be about a month later on Amazon for those of you not using ereaders yet. I do have to admit that a paper copy does hold a certain level of nostalgia and also makes a great stocking stuffer. I plan to buy a few for some of my family that have not fully realized the technology age.
The Daughter of Man is also available to borrow via Amazon Prime!
